Now a new scheme named ‘Mamata-PMMVY’ has been started by combining the state’s Mamta Yojana and the Center’s Matru Vandana Yojana. Under this, if a woman gives birth to a daughter, she will be given a help of Rs 12,000 and on the birth of a son, she will be given a help of Rs 10,000. Objective of Mamata-PMMVY Scheme
The Odisha government has implemented this new Mamta-PMMVY scheme from 1 April 2025. Its main objective is to provide financial assistance to pregnant and lactating women during and after pregnancy, so that they can take better care of themselves and their child. This step also strengthens women empowerment. Under this scheme, the assistance amount will be transferred directly to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries.

Key Benefits of Mamata-PMMVY Scheme
Under this scheme, the following benefits will be given to women.
On the birth of a girl – If a daughter is born to a woman, she will be given financial assistance of ₹12,000. Earlier this amount was ₹10,000, which has now been increased.
On the birth of a boy – If a son is born, the woman will be given an amount of ₹10,000.
Special benefits to women of PVTG community – Women of Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTG) will get this benefit on every live birth, whether it is the first child or the second. This will provide nutrition and health related facilities to the deprived communities.
Incentives to Anganwadi workers – Considering the role of Anganwadi workers in the implementation of the scheme, they will also be given incentives. Now they will get ₹250 and assistants will get ₹150 monthly. Earlier it was ₹200 and ₹100.
Odisha Mamata-PMMVY Scheme 2025 – Eligibility & Required Documents
- The applicant must be a permanent resident of Odisha.
- Only pregnant or lactating women are eligible.
- The woman must be at least 19 years of age.
- Registration at an Anganwadi Center (AWC) or Mini AWC is mandatory.
- Must have received at least two antenatal check-ups (ANC).
- Should have taken Iron-Folic Acid (IFA) tablets.
- Must have received at least one Tetanus (TT) vaccination.
